New Orleans - 1st Stop on Spring Break Extravaganza 2016
Dave and Vicki are such gracious hosts, we all have a blast when we go to visit. This year was no exception! Luck of the calendar, St. Patty's Day parade weekend in New Orleans lined up perfectly with our first weekend of Spring Break. After months of planning we finally got there and had another very successful St. Patty Parade experience. The treasures just keep coming!
There are a number of highlights from the parade, but catching a plunger was definitely at the top of the list. Uncle Dave was nice enough to model it for us on his head! It is also important to note the cabbage necklace around Dave's neck. That was a big score this year! I think it is his first cabbage necklace ever.
Back to the comment about Densons celebrating birthdays, we got to be with Dave on his actual birthday weekend and we went to a super yummy seafood restaurant to celebrate on Saturday night. Uncle Dave may be a wee bit older than the girls, but he sure can clown around like a kid!
Happy Birthday Densons!
You can't do enough birthday celebrating in our family - happy belated birthday to Granddad and happy early birthday to Uncle Dave!
Rodeo 2016
Seems like just yesterday the girls were afraid of Howdy and Ms. Moo and would run when they saw them. This year we couldn't leave without a pic with Ms. Moo and her barn moved so it took some work to get the pic! Also did the regular favorites like fun on the farm the livestock show animals and exhibits, and of course the petting zoo. We finished off the day with a family ride on the super huge ferris wheel.
Happy Mardi Gras!
It was back to the beach we went this year for another Bolivar Mardi Gras! Always entertaining and we always get way more beads than I ever would have imagined.
Girl Scouts
As part of our new adventure in girl scouts, we officially got to experience cookie booth sales! I admit,I was skeptical about setting up a table of cookies outside Randall's and hanging out for 2 hours with 5 yr olds trying to sell cookies. But you quickly feel like you are doing other people a favor vs. them doing you a favor - these cookies sell themselves! The girls had fun, we sold 80 boxes of cookies in 2 hours and we had many happy customers.
